Are you planning a family trip to the seaside this summer? To make the most of your holiday relaxation, it's worth planning such a trip well. We all know that resting alone is quite different from resting with children around. However, with a bit of preparation, beach time can be just as enjoyable. So, what's worth taking to the beach with your child?

What to bring to the beach with your child – essential parent equipment

What's worth bringing to the beach so you don't have to head back to the hotel or resort after a short while? Besides essential items like a swimsuit or suitable beach clothing that ensures comfort on a warm day, a few extra accessories will also come in handy. This is where beach bags come to the rescue, as they can fit all the necessary gadgets.

Don't forget about beach towels, an indispensable high-SPF cream, and a blanket to sit on. If possible, it's also worth bringing a beach umbrella or a small tent – to provide some shade for yourself and your child. If the beach spot is shielded from the sun, which is highly recommended for a full-day beach stay, you can of course skip a windbreak, tent or other sun and wind protection items. Depending on the destination, the necessary accessories can often be rented on site.

What to pack for the beach with your child so they don't get bored

Adults relax perfectly well with a book in hand, but children need more stimulation. Additionally, you must bring toys – both for sand and for water. A bucket, spade, rake, moulds – everything that can help build the best sandcastle on the beach will be essential. Depending on the child's age and skills, a swimming ring or inflatable armbands may also be needed, and a swimming mattress will come in handy too. When your child gets tired, it's worth offering them a book to read, so bring along an interesting title. An inflatable ball for playing on the shore and in the water will also be useful. With older children, you can also play games – card games work particularly well, as they're easy to bring along.

What food to bring to the beach

You can't do without snacks either, as you quickly get hungry while at the beach. It's worth bringing small, convenient one-bite portions, and don't forget wet wipes to clean your hands after eating. Simple ingredients work best: small fruits and vegetables, possibly cut into portions, or ready-made sandwiches. Nuts and dried fruit are also worth bringing. Let's skip products that can spoil quickly outside the fridge. Similarly, avoid snacks with cream or chocolate, which will melt quickly in the sun. Of course, drinks are essential for a day at the beach – they're a must. You can choose juices or lemonades, but keep in mind that sweet drinks may attract insects. Water works best – it perfectly quenches thirst and hydrates.

Going to the beach with a baby

When going on holiday with a little one, keep in mind that a full day at the beach will be challenging. It's better to allocate a shorter time for this. What's essential to bring to the beach for a baby? Of course, you can't forget baby care products, nappies, and creams. You should also bring food, even if you plan to spend a shorter time at the beach, depending on the feeding schedule. Drinks will also be essential. You must absolutely provide a shaded, quiet spot for your little one. What else will be useful for a baby at the beach? It's worth thinking about your child's outfit. For hot weather, white muslin rompers or a set with an ecru muslin baby T-shirt paired with ecru muslin baby shorts work great.

An excellent idea is to bring a poncho for kids to the beach. A lightweight muslin model is perfect for playtime, protecting against the sun. It will also be useful for wrapping your little one after a bath. Muslin fabric dries quickly once wet, so you can continue using the poncho.

The list of needed items could include many more extras – we've only provided the essential minimum you can't do without. Don't forget about headwear. Summer hats are a must-have for anyone getting ready for the beach. You can also opt for muslin headwear, which is perfect for summer days.
