Dopamine dressing is a trend everyone will love. Show your optimistic nature, find out what's so fascinating about colourful clothes and feel better without much effort. Start right now!
Dopamine is an important neurotransmitter, and its functions depend on where it is activated. It affects the nervous system, but is not limited to it. The action of dopamine in the nervous system is very significant to us and is responsible for regulating psychological and emotional processes. Thanks to it, energy increases, and dopamine is very often called the happiness neurotransmitter.
Dopamine dressing – where does the name come from?
Dopamine is responsible, among other things, for motivating action, increasing creativity, boosting energy, raising blood pressure and speeding up blood flow. Such behaviours can be observed, for example, in people in love, and this state, as we know very well, is very pleasant. The right level of dopamine simply makes us feel happier. The dopamine dressing trend is therefore based on this positive effect of dopamine on people.
The concept of dopamine dressing itself is not new. Carolyn Mair, author of The Psychology of Fashion, already claimed that fashion is perceived through all the senses. Meanwhile, the trend of getting a dopamine boost through the clothes we wear has a lot in common with both fashion psychology and chromotherapy. Influencing human wellbeing through colours has a long history, and fashion fits perfectly into this method, with the difference that it's not about being exposed to certain colours, but about wearing them.
What is the dopamine dressing trend all about?

The concept assumes stimulating the brain to produce dopamine through the choice of appropriate clothes. The more colourful, the better. There are no limits here. Paris, New York, designers create trends that play with colour. We can do the same ourselves. Colours affect not only how others see us, but also our own wellbeing. Spring is the perfect time to dive into your wardrobe and pull out the craziest colours. If you don't find them there, it's the right time to stock up on them.
Multicoloured outfit – how to create one?
Combining vivid, energetic colours with black or white doesn't seem too difficult, and we've probably done it more than once. However, when we dream of a multicoloured creation, things get a little more complicated. Not everyone has the skill of combining colours with each other. A simple tip on this matter is to use basic colour-matching rules. Colours that sit next to each other on the colour wheel go well together, and you can boldly create such combinations. Not just those made of two colours. After all, orange, yellow and red create a great combination that also instantly stimulates action. Colours can also be combined by contrast, choosing colours that are opposite each other on the wheel, such as yellow with navy blue, but purple will also work.
Dopamine dressing focuses on individuality

If, however, you don't quite feel like creating such schematic combinations, no problem at all. Dopamine dressing focuses primarily on an individual approach to fashion, not on repeating patterns. Thanks to this, even children find it easy to embrace this trend. Wear as many colours at once as you like. Have you heard that you shouldn't overdo it and shouldn't choose more than three colours? Forget about it. In this trend, you can allow yourself that. However, if you don't yet feel confident enough with very colourful combinations, go for one colour. Here, your wellbeing is what matters most, and it's not about forcing a look. Perhaps once you feel the positive effect of colour on your mood, you'll want to expand your wardrobe with new shades?
Wear happiness on you and within you
Clothes need to fit you, be comfortable and give you comfort. Only then will you feel that the outfit reflects who you are. Choose textures that you like. Ones that make you relax and feel good. Natural materials work well in this case, but if you prefer denim or leather, choose those instead. From our range, you can choose all sorts of clothes that you'll like in terms of colour. You can start with green clothes, which will also perfectly highlight the spring season. If you like pastel colours, you might be interested in apricot and mint clothes. However, if you love brighter colours and want to lift your mood with colourful clothes, you might go for a mustard sleeveless midi dress or, if you're looking for a comfortable everyday outfit, choose a very comfortable and highly practical sweatshirt. Choose an energetic red women's sweatshirt with a scarf collar, and your outfit will instantly stand out.
Dopamine dressing is a trend for everyone, for adults and children alike. Younger people can also lift their mood with energetic clothes. Surely an orange short-sleeve tunic will appeal to both younger and older girls. Fashionable red will work just as well. Both the aforementioned tunic and a red midi skirt will have a positive effect on your mood. The trend doesn't leave men out either, they too can go wild with colour choices. Here you'll find plenty of men's clothing, which can become great inspiration for creating an outfit.
