I was looking for simple, single-color pants without motley prints for my son for first grade. My Basic was recommended to me by a friend who also has a slim child. The pants lie great - they emphasize the figure nicely, do not wrinkle comically in the crotch. The only downside is that the black model catches lint quite a bit in the wash, but the cut for a skinny kid is unmistakable. I recommend taking a standard size

As usual, the pants are solidly made, but the cut is very baggy. They are also a few inches longer than other cuts in the same size.
