A preschooler probably already knows educational games well. They use them at preschool, but it's also worth having a few options at home to use during free time or in bad weather. For older children, aged 3-7, the choice of games is truly enormous. They focus on developing memory, observation skills, logical thinking, or analytical skills. You can choose a guessing game, a puzzle, or a skill-based game.

Board games are great at this age. To a large extent, educational games for preschool age relate to the world around us and expand the child's knowledge. They cover animals, professions, interpersonal relationships, recognising emotions, and learning safety rules. These can be picture domino-type games, or board games. It's a good idea to go shopping for such a game with the child. They will tell us which topic interests them most at the moment, and it's well known that if they choose the theme themselves, they'll be more engaged and will play with greater enjoyment.

After finishing preschool, children should still be additionally stimulated to develop further. Properly chosen games will certainly make learning at school easier, expand their knowledge, and be a creative form of entertainment. School-age children can already play various kinds of quizzes – thematic ones, if we want to develop specific skills, or general development ones.

A great game to introduce at this stage is scrabble for children. When developing mathematical competencies and practising logical thinking, it's worth opting for draughts, chess, or games focused on logical puzzles. It's still worth accompanying your child during games, even though they're already older, they'll certainly appreciate spending more time together. It will also be an opportunity for them to show off their knowledge and skills learned at school to their parents.

Playing educational games together is certainly not wasted time. Supporting a child at various stages of development is extremely important.
